Deckchair in a Summer Garden
Artist
Trudi Doyle
Medium
Painting - Watercolour
Description
Watercolour of a wild garden in summer, an inviting deckchair in the foreground and a toddler having fun herding our three Aylesbury ducks in dappled sunlight underneath the leafy trees.
This watercolour painting was inspired by memories of my daughter and my garden and the three ducks who loved to wander about searching for slugs and snails to eat They were very useful helpers for my efforts to grow delphiniums ( loved by slugs !) We raised the ducks from eggs hatched by an unsuspecting Marron hen who was sitting on her own eggs. -They were named by my daughter - Tulip, Bunji and Jemima -(The ducks are now sadly long gone to duck heaven ! )

In these cold temperatures, I enjoy your painting. It pulls me in and makes me long for the warmth and colors that summer brings.
