Reading in a Summer Garden

Title
Reading in a Summer Garden
Artist
Trudi Doyle
Medium
Painting - Watercolour
Description
This semi abstract watercolour painting was inspired by memories of my garden; lush with growth and colour, my three Aylesbury ducks foraging for slugs in the undergrowth (my ducks were very efficient and useful helpers in my efforts to grow delphiniums, a flower which is favoured by slugs as they loved to eat them) - swallows swooping overhead and a figure relaxing in the sunshine
We raised the ducks from eggs hatched by an unsuspecting Marron hen who was sitting on her own eggs. -They were named by my daughter - Tulip, Bunji and Jemima -The ducks are now sadly long gone to duck heaven , however I still grow sunflowers and poppies each summer but rarely get a chance to sit and read amongst them. As every gardener knows -there is always something to do in a garden !
