Description
Watercolour of a garden and a toddler having fun herding our three Aylesbury ducks in dappled sunlight underneath the leafy trees.
In the background two distant figures enjoy relaxing on a lazy summer afternoon.
This watercolour painting was inspired by memories of my daughter and my garden and the three ducks who loved to wander about searching for slugs and snails to eat -their names were Tulip, Bunji and Jemima - (long gone to duck heaven ! )
The painting now brings to mind a song by the Kinks
" Help me, help me, help me sail away,
Well give me two good reasons why I oughta stay.
Cos I love to live so pleasantly,
Live this life of luxury,
Lazing on a sunny afternoon.
In the summertime "
