Title
Summer Morning
Artist
Trudi Doyle
Medium
Painting - Oil On Canvas
Description
Oil painting of a summer morning with sunlight pouring in through the doorway and a straying Maran hen pecking its way into the traditional Irish country kitchen- By the table in the sunlight is a hand crafted sugan chair, the seat is made of woven straw.
Maran hens and cockerels are clean and docile, with a passive disposition - very likely to wander in to the kitchen !
Marans . originated in the French village of Marans a port town in the Bay of Biscay southwest of Paris.
A steady supply of trade ships over the centuries brought new breeds of poultry which were bred with the local chickens, resulting in the Marans varieties we have today.

Just charming and probably my favorite in the Blues contest. I love the homey look, the open door, the chicken that has wandered in, the coats and hats hanging on the hooks - and of course the colors. Congratulations on the 3rd place win in the recent I GOT THE BLUES contest.

Congrats Trudi! Not only did I vote for this piece, I'll like and fav and post to my Pinterest board, Art That Inspires! Why does it inspire me? Viewing this piece unearths this desire to go there....experience this morning, bask in the light of that quiet place. It inspires me to keep trying to capture that same feeling for others in my work. Thank-you!
