Deirdre Sewing Patchwork in Maganey

Title
Deirdre Sewing Patchwork in Maganey
Artist
Trudi Doyle
Medium
Painting - Watercolour Painting
Description
Watercolour of a young woman in an interior working at her sewing.
This piece was inspired by my friend Deirdre, she made many beautifully crafted patchwork quilts..
In this watercolour painting Deirdre sits before an unlit traditional open fire in the lovely Maganey Lock House where I lived by the River Barrow in Ireland between 1982 and 1986.( We actually cooked our food on that open fire!! )
A window fills the room with light and creates a glow around Deirdre as she is lost in concentration and intent on her task.
