Description
Watercolour painting of Hacketstown in County Carlow Ireland. This painting of an Irish village includes it's streetscape and local landscape.
Above is Eagle hill which is visible from every approaching road of which there are several as the village is on the border of Carlow and Wicklow and serves as a focal point for surrounding townslands.
The town nestles at the base of Eagle Hill. - "The Hill " as it is known locally is beloved by most people who grew up there.
This painting was commissioned as a gift for an Irish lady who now lives in the USA but grew up in Hacketstown.
This is an extract from the heartfelt response I recieved from the person who commissioned the painting as a gift for her -" I can say, the piece, your work, is a tremendous success in every way, visually and emotionally. I've tried to share my appreciation - there are no words to express my satisfaction".
