Description
Watercolour of a gaggle of geese on a free range farm -They have a lovely life -foraging in woodland before they meet their fate on a Christmas / Holiday dinner table.!
The collective noun for a group of geese on the ground is a gaggle; when in flight, they are called a skein, a team or a wedge; when flying close together, they are called a plump.
The term goose applies to the female in particular while gander applies to the male in particular. Young birds before fledgling are called goslings
Goosey Goosey Gander, ( fun Nursery Rhyme )
Goosey goosey gander,
Whither shall I wander?
Upstairs and downstairs
And in my lady's chamber.
There I met an old man
Who wouldn't say his prayers,
So I took him by his left leg
And threw him down the stairs"
