Description
"Wills House on Eagle Hill" painted in Watercolour. Birds eye view of an Irish cottage at the base of Eagle Hill near Hacketstown in County Carlow Ireland This cottage was inhabited by an old man Will Hopkins who has passed away.He always had time to amuse children with stories of times past ! I remember visiting his house with my brothers.
I have an intense attachment to this landscape near my birthplace. The hill is bounded by a laneway with delelict cottages surrounded by farm pastures and bordered by wild areas of bogland and trees. It was my childhood playground where I recieved an education on the passing seasons, wildlife, flora and fauna. I was blessed to grow up in such an unspoilt place.
