Watercolour of a young woman out walking on a rough path through freshly ploughed fields in Spring, She is dressed for the Irish weather in a blue rain mac, a black fedora and pair of green wellingtons, carrying a red umbrella.
She is a woman of the country -well prepared for the unpredictable Irish weather !
In the distance the wild hillside and a house among the trees -perhaps its her home -perhaps she is on her way to visit or perhaps she is just enjoying a solitary walk and her own company.
"Rain rain go away,
Come again another day.
Little Johnny wants to play;
Rain, rain, go to Spain,
Never show your face again!"
