The second in as series of metaphorical watercolour paintings of organic shapes and forms with man and animals living together in peace and harmony., Besides many birds and human images if you look closely you will find fish, a penguin, a snail, a fox, two hares, a hedgehog, a frog and the owl. This painting imagines humans and animals, flora and fauna, transcending physical barriers and differences,
The most famous of "Peaceable Kingdom "paintings were by American folk painter Edward Hicks ( 1780 -1849) a distinguished minister of the Society of Friends, who became a Quaker icon because of his paintings. Hicks depicted humans and animals to represent the idea of breaking down differences between individuals to working and living together in peace
