Hicks depicted humans and animals to represent the idea of breaking down differences between individuals to working and living together in peace
Extract from ESKIMO SONG
". In the very earliest time,
when both people and animals lived on earth,
a person could become an animal if he wanted to
and an animal could become a human being.
Sometimes they were people
and sometimes animals
and there was no difference.
All spoke the same language"

Beautiful integration of animals and humans — a delightful tease for the eyes and brain to seek out the various elements.

Trudi, I simply love this artwork! It's so amazing! When I saw the way you had spelled color with a "u" it in your comment to my "The Aroma of Grace" I thought you might be from the United Kingdom! I lived in Ireland for about 3 or 4 years as a child. I will check out the rest of your work now! F/V
