A 'Koan' in zen buddism is a story, question, dialogue or statement, the meaning of which cannot be understood by rational thinking but by intuition.
.Many myths have linked birds to the arrival of life or death - Birds were seen as carriers or symbols of the human soul, or as the soul itself.
For me in creating this piece something entered into the the act of painting which was beyond the grasp of my conscious mind -but this is quite often the casw when I paint - I go with the flow !
I live in beautiful Ireland .I am inspired by mythology,memories, dreams, whimsical flights of fancy and by nature's beauty - with all it's related moods, My work is varied, sometimes abstract, often surreal..
