Watercolour still life on my kitchen dresser with a pink tea pot and colourful kitchen ware as a backdrop to a bunch of spectacular Rhododendrons.
After a visit to my artist friend Jassy's garden I took home a bunch of lovely purple blooms and put them in a vase on my kitchen dresser. I was immediately inspired to capture them in watercolour !
Rhododendrons bloom in very early summer when there is not a lot of colour in the garden and woodlands - Spring blossoms and flowers have faded and the full flush of summer blooms have not arrived so the vibrant and spectacular purples, lavenders and blue shades of Rhododendrons are very welcome.
