Description
An elegant woman sits quietly at a table laid with a white linen cloth, bread and wine, she is not alone as a second glass of wine has been poured and there are two soup bowls on the table. She appears to be in a reflective mood .
This piece was inspired by a friend Isabelle from Paris, France whom I met and worked with in Berlin one summer . She is a tall beautiful woman and a wonderful model to sketch and paint.
This painting is featured on the cover of "The Married Woman" a novel by Fran O Brien, a Dublin based author. This bestselling novel published in 2005 has now gone in to a second edition ( in 2012 )and has raised money for a charity close to the author's heart which aims to establish a children's hospice in Ireland. The original painting has been sold - But cards prints and canvas prints etc.are available here on FAA.

Magnificent Trudi. I love the european atmosphere and Isabelle seems to be lost in thought, mysterious!

As a photographer I tend to appreciate realistic photo type art, but this really appealed to me. I like this very much as well as several others in your figurative series
