Original Pastel painting " The Rescue " a ploughed field in early spring ,our Aylesbury duck on a night time ramble, rescued by my daughter from danger of being eaten by a fox ! . The Irish landscape featuring Eagle hill, my childhood playground in the background.
Eagle hill, Hacketstown in South East Ireland is surrounded by farm pastures and bordered by wild shrubs and trees.
Our ducks loved to ramble on warm spring and summer evenings and sometimes we had to take a walk in the moonlight to bring them home as the wily fox was always on the lookout at nightfall for a tasty plump duck for dinner.
My daughter named the ducks -Tulip, Bunji and Jemima and they were a lovely sight in the garden as well as providing us with delicious free range eggs every Spring and Summer.
I live in beautiful Ireland .I am inspired by mythology, memories, dreams, whimsical flights of fancy and by nature's beauty - with all it's related moods, My work is varied, sometimes abstract, often surreal.. As well as painting and exhibiting, I tutor art in Europe; Italy/ Tuscany and France. See details on http://trudidoyle.blogspot.com My work has been published as illustrations, book covers, CD covers, has won many prizes, awards and commissions and is in public and private collections in Ireland & throughout the world from New York to Hong Kong ( including Oscar winner Sir Ben Kingsleys) .Enough about me - enjoy viewing my work !
