"Wild Poppies" An Impressionistic watercolour of striking scarlet poppies in high summer.
A bed of scarlet poppies is an astonishing sight -They can grow wild in fields that have been ploughed and planted with crops .
Seeds of these ephemeral beauties have the ability to lie dormant for decades since the time before modern chemicals were sprayed.
When farmers desist from spraying everything in their path with pesticides they once again spring forth from underground .
I grew these flowers in my garden from seed collected in the wild.
This dramatic painting of sumptuous red poppies will brighten any wall with its vibrant impression of wild poppies.
