Within the arms of a young mother lies a new baby - the essence of love - of life and the centre of of the universe.
Tha meaning of Cocoon is given as "a silky case spun by the larvae of many insects for protection as pupae." or as a verb" Envelop in a protective or comforting way."
Both meanings relate to this painting !
The cocoon painting was completed with abstract images surrounding the mother and baby. -Swirling water, people, trees, leaves, fish below and birds above- the elements of earth, water and air.
