Description
Portrait of Bob Dylan - the finest living songwriter and lyric poet .
For almost 50 years, Bob Dylan has remained the most influential artist rock & roll has ever produced. Born Robert Allen Zimmerman on May 24th 1941 in Duluth Minnesota.
His lyrics are regarded as literature. By personalizing folk songs, Dylan reinvented the singer-songwriter genre; and later by performing his allusive, poetic songs in his spontaneous vocal style with an electric band he enlarged pop's range and vocabulary while creating a widely imitated sound.
(This portrait of Bob Dylan was commissioned in 2012 by a dear friend who sadly died eight months later on the first of November 2012. His coffin was carried out of the church to the choir singing the classic "Blowin' in the Wind"- How many roads must a man walk down / Before you call him a man? / How many seas must a white dove sail / Before she sleeps in the sand ? -. He would be proud and happy to see Bob receive the well deserved honour of the Nobel prize in Literature. Rest in Peace Tony- Tangled up in blue ! .)
