Description
This painting "Flamingo Croquet Anyone ?" was created for a midsummer Exhibition on the theme of Alice in Wonderland..
In this painting I included an array of characters and images from the book "Alice in Wonderland" by Lewis Carroll.
The White Rabbit appears at the very beginning of the book wearing a waistcoat, and muttering "Oh dear! Oh dear! I shall be late!" Alice follows him down the rabbit hole into Wonderland
She encounters the Cheshire Cat- known for its mischievous grimace. -he appeared and vanishes leaving only his grin - seen here in the sky.
Alice becomes a guest at a mad hatters tea party -At another point Alice enters a garden and meets gardeners in the shape of playing cards. ...she is invited to take part in a game of croquet in which the croquet balls are live hedgehogs, and the mallets are flamingos. ..hence the title of this painting .
