Description
This painting was commissioned by a doting grandmother as a first gift for her granddaughter.
The brief was simple - a watercolour of a young girl of 8 or 9 years - the rest of the composition was at my discretion. This is the type of commission I like as it allows me to give rein to my creativity .
I love painting sunlight and also gardens and flowers- all of which I used in this painting.
I am also fascinated by the interior / exterior theme. I added a hint of mystery in the barely glimpsed room beyond the open door.
She was very happy with the result as I was. !
