Artist's Description
Watercolour painting of a country kitchen, morning sunlight pouring in with details of a country dresser , a table and a collie dog - my dog Basil resting in his basket - I miss him - he was a great one for persuading me to walk him at least twice a day - he 'd go into a frenzy of excitement at the mention of the word "walk" -he has now gone to dog heaven.
The painting brings together many elements of childhood memories. I now live in an old farmhouse and I have recreated this to some degree - keeping the authentic feel of a period home.
.Having renovated the house which had been quite run down and unloved I furnished it with authentic time worn period pieces and some quirky rustic fittings and finds, I also had things which I had inherited from my grand aunts and uncles; furniture, pottery, kitchen ware and patchwork.
