Description
Spring evening scene- the sun is sinking behind the hill and a ploughed field is suffused with late evening light . Two cottage roofs can be seen surrounded by sheltering shrubs and trees. The ploughed field is ready for planting ... soon the seed will be sown and later at the end of summer crops will be ready for the harvest.-. A freshly ploughed field in Spring is a lovely reminder of the advance of the year to new growth and warmth .
At the spring equinox, days are close to 12 hours long with day length increasing as the season progresses. Spring and "springtime" is seen as a time of growth, renewal, of new life (both plant and animal) being born. The term is also used more generally as a metaphor for the start of better times, and also to ideas of rebirth, rejuvenation, renewal, resurrection, and regrowth
