Watercolour of evening light on the water in Venice, Italy beautiful Santa Maria de la Salute in the harbour in Venice, the harbour of liquid gold, a view of the famous and beautiful baroque church "Santa Maria della Salute" in the distance.
I visited Venice twice and in my opinion it is the most beautiful of all European cities.
Santa Maria della Salute is a Baroque church at the entrance to the Grand Canal.
The church was built at the time of the plague in the city. which raged from 1630. Before that period of time the city had a population of about 46,000 inhabitants, tragically one third of the population perished from the plague.
